A westbound Route 21-North Avenue Marmon-Herrington
crosses North 49th Street. It is the last week of December, 1962.
On December 29th, , Routes 15, 21, 22, 35 and the Vliet Street
half of Route 18 were all dieselized. This cut Milwaukee's trackless
trolley mileage in half. During the trackless trolley era, Route
21's western terminal was at N. 60th Street and West North Avenue.
A connecting diesel or gas bus continued west into Wauwatosa.
A short turn loop via West Lisbon Avenue and North 49th Street
accounted for the overhead in the foreground. This 300 series
