Hermeneutic cycle
The hermeneutic circle refers to the circle of interpretation that is involved in the understanding of knowledge. The concept is a way of stating that understanding and knowledge is a cycle of exposure to information (texts), interpretation, then re-exposure to texts. Subsequent exposure to a text is influenced by the interpretation of the previous text.
Expanding Spiral
The structural model for the Cycles of Iteration is an expanding spiral. Each iteration builds on knowledge from the previous cycle.
