Update on TSSU Research Assistant Negotiations
November 29, 2024
Earlier this week, the university shared an update on the status of negotiations with TSSU regarding the Research Assistant (RA) variation to their trade union certification.
On November 24, TSSU applied to the BC Labour Relations Board (LRB) for a mediator, and both SFU and TSSU mutually agreed to postpone the negotiations scheduled for December 3-5, 2024.
The LRB has assigned a mediator, and sessions have been rescheduled for January 27-29, 2025.
The university is optimistic that both parties can work toward an agreement that meets the sustainable and best interests of the university and TSSU members.
Regular updates will continue to be posted on the Collective Bargaining Central Hub as they are available.
