Transform the SFU Experience
SFU named among Canada's 2025 top employers
A unique campus environment, strong skills development training options and comprehensive benefits are among the reasons SFU has been named one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers for 2025.
“Throughout the year, faculty and staff across our Burnaby, Surrey and Vancouver campuses contribute to building an SFU community where all can thrive. This kind of recognition would not be possible without their dedication," said Vice-President People, Equity and Inclusion Yabome Gilpin-Jackson.
Now marking its 25th anniversary, the annual competition compares employers across similar industries, region and size. Each employer is assessed by rigorous criteria in eight key areas including work atmosphere, employee communications and community involvement.
SFU received the highest possible score in four categories: work environment, health & family-friendly benefits, vacation & personal time off and training & skills development.
The faculty and staff experience at SFU is guided by institutional strategies, including the Equity Compass and People Plan, that contribute to an environment of inclusive excellence where all feel welcome, safe, accepted and appreciated.
Recent initiatives such as the SFU Accessibility Plan and Demographic and Diversity Data Survey will also support those efforts in the coming years, helping to ensure that SFU is a place where all can thrive.
