Transform the SFU Experience
SFU receives two employer recognition awards
SFU has been named among BC’s 2024 Top Employers and Canada’s Top Family Friendly Employers in recognition of areas such as training opportunities and comprehensive parental leave benefits.
Each year, the Top Family Friendly Employer competition focuses on employers that support a balance between work and family obligations for their staff, while the Top B.C. Employer competition examines a broad range of categories to recognize leading organizations in the province. SFU was also recently distinguished at the national level as one of Canada’s 2024 Top 100 Employers.
Building on the 2023 launch of key institutional frameworks including What’s Next: the SFU Strategy, the People Plan and the Equity Compass, these awards reflect SFU’s ongoing commitment to transforming the faculty and staff experience.
“We are incredibly grateful to our faculty and staff who make it possible for SFU to achieve this kind of recognition. Each member of our community works hard to support colleagues, students and beyond,” said Christina Medland, Executive Director of People & Organization Development.
Key initiatives at SFU that were considered for the designations include leadership development programs, tuition subsidies and comprehensive parental leave options available to faculty and staff.
