New AVP for Facilities and Campus Planning
The VP Finance and Administration (VPFA) is pleased to announce that Jennifer Sanguinetti will be joining SFU in the inaugural role of Associate Vice-President (AVP) of Facilities and Campus Planning, effective September 25, 2023.
As a seasoned leader in infrastructure development, Sanguinetti is passionate about campus planning and development to create great spaces for learning, research and campus life. Sanguinetti joins us from UBC where she most recently held the role of managing director of infrastructure development.
With experience working across the development industry, from crown corporations to engineering consulting, she holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from McGill University, is a Professional Engineer (registered in BC, Washington and California) and is a LEED Accredited Professional. She is also past-chair of the LEED Canada Steering Committee as well as chair of the US Green Building Council’s LEED Steering Committee (2020). Throughout her career, Sanguinetti has developed a reputation for her expertise in green building design, winning multiple national awards for her work.
“In her new position (which replaces the former chief facilities officer role), Jennifer will set the vision and leadership for facilities operations and infrastructure services at SFU, while working closely with our internal and external stakeholder communities,” says Martin Pochurko, Vice-President, Finance and Administration. “Jennifer will also work towards finding sustainable solutions for our current challenges with the evolving construction market, as well as SFU’s aging infrastructure. We look forward to working with Jennifer to find innovative and progressive ways of approaching projects at SFU.”
Please join us in welcoming our new AVP, Facilities and Campus Planning – Jennifer Sanguinetti.
