Staying healthy and well this Fall
August 30, 2022
We look forward to welcoming new and returning students, faculty and staff in-person for the Fall 2022 term!
As we navigate the impacts of communicable diseases circulating in the province, SFU remains committed to maintaining a safe and healthy environment for all who teach, learn, research, work and visit our campuses.
SFU follows public health guidance and has many layers of protection in place across our three campuses, including:
- Masks – Masks are encouraged on our campuses, particularly in spaces where people are in close proximity. Masks are not required and are a matter of personal choice.
- Vaccines – Vaccination remains the best way to protect yourself and others in your community. SFU encourages you to get your COVID-19 booster dose as soon as you are eligible.
- Daily Health Assessments – Conduct a daily health assessment before coming to campus. If you’re sick, stay home and follow public health guidelines including What to do if you have COVID-19.
- COVID-19 Rapid Tests – Free rapid test kits are available for all faculty, staff and students at all three campuses.
- Ventilation – SFU continues to audit spaces for air quality, upgrade filters and implement WorkSafeBC and ASHRAE standards.
- Enhanced Cleaning Protocols – Increased frequency of cleaning in high touch locations.
- Learn more by reading SFU’s communicable disease plan.
Thank you for your support, compassion and care as we work together to keep our community healthy and well.
