How you can support students during exam season
December 02, 2021
The end of the semester can be a stressful time for many SFU students. During this time, please consider extending extra kindness towards students who may be struggling. If you do encounter a student who is struggling, please consider also sharing one of the below resources so they can access support.
Mental health and crisis supports:
- SFU Health & Counselling - counselling services, support groups and workshops
- My SSP - confidential, 24/7 mental health support with multiple language options
- Office of Student Support, Rights & Responsibilities - faculty and staff can refer students who are in distress or experiencing complex issues (eg. illness, housing insecurity, bereavement, etc.) that interfere with their studies
Academic supports:
- Student Learning Commons - available to support students with academic writing, learning, and study strategies
- Study Hall @ Home - drop-in study time and peer support
- AskAway - live chat with research experts
- Academic advising
