Brian Compton Since 1986, Brian Compton has been involved in ethnobiological research and teaching among various First Nations of British Columbia and Indian Tribes of Washington State. He has worked as a researcher (as a principal investigator and research assistant) and in coordination and supervisory capacities. He has developed and taught several college and university courses involving ethnobiological and related topics at the University of British Columbia, Simon Fraser University, Northwest Indian College and other indigenous and private educational institutions of the Pacific Northwest. He has authored, co-authored and co-edited several reports and publications, and has created or contributed to Web-based ethnobiological materials. Brian is currently a full-time member of the faculty in the Department of Humanities and Native Studies at Northwestern Indian College on the Lummi Reservation in northwestern Washington State where he teaches courses in anthropology, biology, education, environmental studies, and history. |
