Introduction
Background
Population does not occur in an evenly distributed manner. Contrast the densely populated area of the West End with suburban areas comprised of large homes housing a fraction of the people living downtown. This project is concerned with creating a more accurate portrayal of population density in Vancouver and its surrounding municipalities. The simplest method for calculating density involves dividing population by area. The focus of this project involves accounting for uninhabited areas in order to create a more accurate population density, distinguishing between varying population densities within the Vancouver CMA, and determining the distribution of these densities.
