C2D2 - A COLLABORATIVE GROUP OF CELL SCIENCE ENTHUSIASTS
Register for the 2024 C2D2 Symposium!
THE CENTRE FOR CELL BIOLOGY, DEVELOPMENT, AND DISEASE (C2D2) WAS INAUGURATED IN 2014.
It is a collaborative endeavour in SFU's Faculty of Science that includes the Departments of Biological Science, Molecular Biology and Biochemistry, Biomedical Physiology and Kinesiology, Chemistry, and Physics.
OUR GOALS:
• To enhance the research potential of groups focused on cell and developmental mechanisms of human, animal, and plant diseases.
• To establish greater cohesion and collaborative opportunities amongst researchers.
• To enhance student and postdoctoral research training opportunities.
• To facilitate outreach to the greater research and lay communities in the Vancouver lower mainland.
RESEARCHERS:
This diverse groups is always interested in developing new collaborations and provide a wide variety of exciting training opportunities ranging from undergraduate volunteering and course-based research through to postdoctoral fellowships
EVENTS:
C2D2 hosts monthly seminars by members of our community on topics ranging from regenerative medicine to biophysics.
Each year we host an exciting and interactive research symposium to highlight the achievments of our trainees.
INFRASTRUCTURE
The interests of C2D2's members span the scale of single molecule physics and biochemistry to the diver model organisms. Our work is supported by key infrastructure included a host of microscopes, high through put screening, environmental control and metabolic analyzers, and more. Click ahead for more information.
