Sessional: BPK 207 Sensorimotor Control and Learning

Lecture: Tuesday, 12:30-2:20; Friday 12:30-1:20

Salary: $7,718, inclusive of vacation pay

Course Descriptions

Qualifications: 

A graduate degree or equivalent qualification in Biomedical Physiology and Kinesiology or a related discipline together with evidence of teaching ability commensurate with the responsibility of teaching the assigned credit course and of carrying out the duties related to the effective conduct of that course. 

Additional qualifications for BPK 207: 

Background in neuroscience frameworks and extensive specific knowledge necessary to lecture and conduct active-learning discussions on topics including:

  • adaptive sensorimotor role of muscle spindles in movement control
  • visual and tactile receptive fields
  • hierarchical processing in the brain
  • internal models of motor control

Knowledge and understanding of (and ideally, direct experience with) data collection techniques covered in the course, including:

  • single neuron recording
  • biomechanics/kinematics/EMG
  • eye tracking
